Friends of Shades Creek is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization of local citizens working for the protection of, and responsible development along, beautiful Shades Creek. An all-volunteer organization, Friends of Shades Creek is led by a board of directors and an executive director. We have monthly meetings on the second Thursday of the month at Homewood Public Library on Oxmoor Road. We are proud to host regular hikes at the Homewood Forest Preserve, an annual creek clean-up in the fall, several canoe trips during the year, and the Salamander Festival in the winter. We are supported by memberships and in-kind monetary donations. Please join today to help us protect this lovely and rare creek.
